MG Motor India has announced retail sales of 4367 units in October 2022, registering a year on year sales growth of 53 per cent. The company has also achieved its highest production output at 5008 units last month. MG produced 1000 units of its electric SUV, the MG ZS EV and retailed 784 units in October 2022.
MG claims that the increase in production is possible due to improvement in semiconductor supplies through localization initiatives. The company hopes that the supplies will further improve in coming weeks. The increase in production has also allow MG Motor India to commence deliveries of the Astor compact SUV in both CVT and AT variants.
The MG ZS EV has also achieved its highest-ever retail sales of 784 units since it was launched in 2020. The MG Hector has also received positive sales for the company. MG is set to launch the new Hector SUV before the end of this year. The company has already released multiple teasers of the upcoming new-gen Hector SUV.
The interior teaser reveals that the new-gen MG Hector will come with all-new dual-tone cabin. It will have a larger 14-inch portrait HD touchscreen infotainment system, leather finish on dashboard and body panels, an all-new digital instrument console, Next-Gen i-Smart tech, wireless connectivity and new steering wheel. In terms of styling, the SUV will have new chrome grille, chrome surround for wider and slimmer air-dam, and new split headlamp setup.
The new MG Hector is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel. While the former is good for 141bhp and 250Nm, the oil burner produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The petrol engine can also be had with the mild hybrid system. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
