The electric vehicle trend is not just limited in cars. Two wheeler manufacturers have also launched electric scooters. Manufacturers like Ather, TVS, Bajaj and many more have introduced electric bikes and scooters in the market. One of the upcoming player in the electric two wheeler space is Ola electric. They’ll be launching their all-new electric scooter in the market soon. Here we have a video that shows Ola’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal riding the upcoming electric scooter from the manufacturer.
The video has been shared by Ola Electric on their YouTube channel. In this video, Bhavish Aggarwal is seen riding the upcoming Ola Electric scooter and it also teases about some of the features that the scooter will be offering. One of the first things that the video highlights is the speed of the scooter. Electric vehicles are quick and it is not different when it comes to the Ola scooter. The scooter gets a very simple and lightweight design.

There are features like sleek LED turn indicators, twin projector type LED headlamps with LED DRL. According to the video, upcoming Ola electric scooter will offer comfortable ride quality and ergonomic seating. The scooter will get alloy wheels and the will be a scooter that is easy to ride and handle in cities. One of the feature that the video boasts about Ola electric scooter is its acceleration. The video mentions that the scooter will offer class leading acceleration.
Like any other scooter in the segment, Ola Electric scooter will come with a very large under seat storage. The space under the seat will be large enough to accommodate not one but two riding helmets. The scooter is going to get largest boot space or under-seat storage in the segment. Bhavish Aggarwal is seen riding the upcoming Ola Electric scooter in Bengaluru. According to several reports, this brand new scooter from Ola is expected to be launched in the market later this month.
Ola Electric has big plans when it comes to manufacturing. They are currently working on their manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri. Once the plant is completed, it will be the largest two-wheeler factory. When fully functional, the facility will have a production capacity of 2 million electric scooters in an year. The facility would generate employment for over 10,000 people. The Ola Electric scooter is actually based on Etergo Appscooter which is a Netherland based EV startup that Ola acquired last year.
It will offer almost all the features that are available with the Etergo Appscooter. One thing that we are currently not sure about the Ola Electric scooter is whether the first batch of scooters would be manufactured or imported. One of the key things that Ola Electric will have to keep in mind while launching the scooter is the price. If they price it competitively, then it can compete against the likes of Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
