Google Pixel 4 launch commences at 7:30 pm tonight: Here’s what we know few moments ahead of launch

American tech major Google is set to refresh its new flagship smartphone series today at an event in New York City. The Google Pixel 4 will be launched alongside a few other Google branded devices like the Pixelbook Go, Pixel Buds 2, and Pixel Watch. A new version of the Google Nest is also expected to be launched at the event.

Google will launch two smartphones in the series—the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. They are expected to offer a new design, upgraded specifications, and major improvements in the camera department. This includes the latest and the greatest processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855+, a 90Hz AMOLED display, dual camera setup with enhanced machine learning-based features and Android 10 compatibility out-of-the-box.

Google Pixel 4: Leaked specifications

Media reports have shown the Pixel 4 will boast a 5.7-inch full HD+ OLED display whereas Google Pixel 4 XL will come with a larger 6.3-inch Quad HD+ OLED display.

In terms of battery backup, the Pixel 4 will run on a 2,800mAh battery while Pixel 4 XL will offer a larger 3,700mAh battery. Both the phones will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The cameras will also be upgraded — 12MP and 16MP sensors and 4K video recording support. The phones will have an 8MP selfie camera.
