IPL 2019: The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin from March 23. However, the BCCI has released the timetable for only the first 17 games till April 5. The complete timetable is expected on Monday as the Committee of Administrators (CoA) will meet in Mumbai and discuss the matter, news agency IANS reported.
The delay was to avoid clashing with the Lok Sabha elections schedule, which was announced last week.
IPL schedule for the first two weeks of the 2019 season was released in February. A BCCI statement had said that the schedule of the first two weeks (17 matches) was still subject to the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2019 election dates and once these have been released the board would address any issues within the first two weeks and would also prepare a schedule for the remainder of the season working with the local authorities around the polling dates.
