Kia EV6 launched in India at Rs 59.95 lakh: Price, features and specifications – Times of India

Kia India has finally launched its much-anticipated EV6 electric crossover in India at a starting price of Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec GT Line AWD is priced at Rs 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Korean carmaker has confirmed that the 100 units of the Kia EV6 are already sold out.
The Kia EV6 deliveries will start from early September 2022. The electric crossover has already received 355 bookings and the brand is planning to increase allocation for India based on the high demand. The Kia EV6 will be available across 12 cities and 15 dealerships across India. Kia India is offering 3 years or unlimited km for the EV6 and 8 years or 1.60 lakh km for battery coverage.

Speaking of the colour options, the Kia EV6 will be available in five exterior colours, including Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue.
Kia EV6 Design
The Kia EV6 gets a more sleek crossover design than an SUV. The electric crossover gets a Kia tiger-nose design, sloping roofline and ducktail spoiler-like effect on the boot lid that makes it look more futuristic. The Kia EV6 gets 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels wrapped up in 235/55 R19.

Kia EV6 is based on Hyundai’s dedicated Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as Hyundai Ioniq 5. It gets an all-black interior with black suede seat and vegan leather bolsters. The list of features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, connected car technology, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a three-pin socket under the back seat and electric sunroof.
Kia EV6 Variants and Powertrain
The Kia EV6 will be available in two variants – the GT and GT-Line AWD. The EV6 is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery. The rear-wheel-drive model produces 229 bhp of power and 350Nm torque, while the all-wheel-drive produces 325hp and 605Nm of torque. Kia claims that the EV6 will offer a maximum range of 528 km as per WLTP cycle under standard conditions. The electric crossover can sprint from 0-100 kmph in barely 3.5 seconds. The top speed of the Kia EV6 is expected to be around 192 kmph.
Using a 50 kW charger, the battery will take around 73 minutes to charge from 10-80%, whereas the 350 kW charger will charge the battery in around 18 minutes.

In terms of safety, the Kia EV6 gets 8 airbags as standard along with All Wheel Disc Brakes, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Multi Collision Brake Assist (MCBA), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assistant System (BAS), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Front and Rear parking sensors and ISOFIX Child Anchor.
