Market LIVE updates: The bulls found no respite in Thursday’s noon deals as the domestic benchmark indices added to their early losses and were trading over 1 per cent lower, ahead of the monthly derivative contracts expiry later in the day.
Among the headline indices, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 690 points down at 46,720 levels. The index hit an intra-day low of 46,518. The broader Nifty50 index, meanwhile, slipped below 13,750. HDFC Bank cracked 4 per cent and was the top Sensex laggard, followed by PowerGrid, Bajaj Finserv, Hindustan Unilever, and Kotak Mahindra Bank (all down 3%). On the other hand, Axis Bank was up 3 per cent.

The Nifty sectoral indices were trading weak, with the Nifty PSU Bank index, down 4 per cent, faring the worst.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices fell 0.9 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.
