Gold Updates: Gold rose on Tuesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve widened its program of buying corporate debt to combat the financial toll of the pandemic as worries grow about a second wave of coronavirus infections.
May Trade Data: May Trade Deficit stood at USD 3.15 billion versus USD 6.76 bullion. May exports was at USD 19.05 billion versus USD 10.36 billion and imports was at USD 22.2 billion versus USD 17.12 billion, MoM, reported CNBC-TV18.
Sensex gainers and losers:
Tata Motors slips: Tata Motors share price fell nearly 2 percent in the early trade on June 16 after company reported consolidated loss of Rs 9,894.25 crore for the quarter ended March 2020. The consolidated profit for the March quarter FY19 was at Rs 1,117.5 crore and Rs 1,738.3 crore in Q3FY20.
Market Opens: It is a strong start for the indian indices on June 16 with Nifty above 10,000 level.
At 09:16 IST, the Sensex was up 716.48 points or 2.16% at 33945.28, and the Nifty wasup 211.10 points or 2.15% at 10024.80. About 856 shares have advanced, 114 shares declined, and 25 shares are unchanged.
Asian Markets gains: Asian shares and Wall Street futures rallied on Tuesday as the formal start of the Federal Reserve’s corporate bond buying programme boosted global investor sentiment and calmed earlier worries about a second wave of coronavirus infections.
ICICIdirect:
Indian markets are likely to witness a gap up opening on the back of strong global cues amid optimism on faster economic recovery from slowdown. Global news flows and domestic earnings reports will be key monitorables.
