Market LIVE Updates: Indices open lower amid weak global cues; Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, BoB in focus – Moneycontrol

June 28, 2022 / 09:29 AM IST

Ajit Mishra, VP – Research, Religare Broking:

We feel global cues will continue to dictate the trend. Besides, domestic factors like the upcoming GST council meet will also be in focus.

We reiterate our positive yet cautious view on markets citing the hurdle at 15900 levels. A decisive breakout could further fuel the recovery to the 16200 zone in Nifty else correction would resume.

Amid all, we’ve been seeing select sectors/themes doing well so the focus should be more on identifying the stocks from such themes while keeping a check on leveraged positions.

Ashwin Patil, Senior Research Analyst at LKP Securities view on Bajaj Auto share buyback:

The size of the buyback is Rs 2500 crore and at a price of Rs 4600. However it’s an open market buyback and not through a tender offer. This means that the stock may not reach those levels by the time the buyback offer closes. Therefore for retail investors, there may not be any significant upside because of this buyback.

However, we believe that the stock definitely holds a good value through its intrinsic performance and can reach levels of Rs 4400 which is as it is our target price. Maintain Buy”
