Market Updates: Benchmark indices extended the opening gains with Nifty above 11200 supported by the metal, bank, IT and auto stocks.
At 09:51 IST, the Sensex was up 415.93 points or 1.10% at 38103.84, and the Nifty was up 122.20 points or 1.10% at 11217.50. About 1363 shares have advanced, 425 shares declined, and 85 shares are unchanged.
Gold Updates: Gold surged past the $2,000 mark on Tuesday after Democrats and the White House appeared closer to agreement on new stimulus to help the coronavirus-hit economy while stocks on Wall Street ended higher as investors awaited more aid from Washington.

Nifty Metal Index rose 2 percent led by the Welspun Corp, Hindalco, SAIL:
Dollar Updates: The dollar was under pressure on Wednesday from a towering euro and crumbling U.S. yields, as the latest coronavirus relief package got bogged down in Congress and investors braced for a bumpy ride to economic repair.
ICICIdirect:
As the Dollar index saw a sharp reversal from its two year’s low and started moving up. The rupee also depreciated. However, considering high Call base at 75.50 strike, current levels are crucial in the downtrend.
The dollar-rupee contract on the NSE was at 75.30 in the last session. The open interest in August series increased 2.5% while in the next series it increased more than 4%.
Vodafone Idea pays Rs 1,200 crore dues:
Vodafone Idea has paid the Rs 1,200 crore due towards license fee and spectrum usage charge (SUC) for April-June to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) an Economic Times report said.
