New Mahindra Scorpio-N Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 11.99 Lakh – carandbike

Mahindra has finally launched the Scorpio-N in India at a starting price of ₹ 11.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). While Mahindra said that it will announce the pricing of the automatic and 4×4 variants on July 21, 2022, Mahindra announced the entire pricing of the 4×2 manual variants of the SUV. The Mahindra Scorpio-N tops out at ₹ 19.49 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Mahindra also said that these are the introductory prices for the SUV, and will only be applicable for the first 25,000 bookings. The Scorpio remains an iconic nameplate in the SUV segment and the latest iteration aims to keep things as authentic as possible with a rugged stance, butch proportions and an all-new design language. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will co-exist with the current generation Scorpio, which will be rebranded to Scorpio Classic.

Mahindra also shared some key details about the SUV in the launch event, and announced that the bookings for the Scorpio-N will open on July 30, 2022. The Scorpio-N is also geared up to be sold internationally, and Mahindra said that along with India, South Africa and Nepal will also get the SUV right away. The Mahindra Scorpio-N will hit other international markets in 2023.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is launched in our market in 5 different variants. At the bottom of the tier is the Z2 variant. While the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, mStallion turbo petrol engine is tuned for 200 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque (370 Nm in manual), the Diesel engine in this variant is in a detuned state as compared to the higher variants. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine in the Z2 variant will put out 130 bhp, as opposed to 172 bhp in Z4 variants and above. 4×4 is on option from the Z4 variants and above too. The higher variants of the SUV, Z6, Z8 and Z8L get further added features. Furthermore, Mahindra also announced that the Scorpio-N has the lowest CO2 emissions in the segment.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N looks sharp and premium with the new styling and that will impress a host of new buyers

The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio has been already revealed in images that show the premium new styling. The SUV looks more upmarket with the slatted grille up front with chrome inserts, new twin-pod projector-lens LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and new C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The rear sports new vertically-stacked LED taillights that do look premium and have evolved well over the predecessor. The styling is completely new on the Scorpio-N and the model has also grown in proportions over its predecessor. The Scorpio-N is 206 mm longer, 97 mm wider, and has a 70 mm longer wheelbase than the current Scorpio. While the height of the scorpio has gone down by 138 mm, it still boasts a ground clearance of 187 mm.

Inside, the cabin gets a complete overhaul on the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N. The dashboard looks classy and upmarket and there is plenty of tech wizardry going around as well. The cabin gets a dual-tone brown and black finish with brushed satin trims on the door handles and centre console. The new Scorpio-N will arrive in six and seven-seater configurations and gets a front-facing third row, which will not only improve passenger comfort but help the SUV get a better crash test safety rating as well.

On the feature front, the Mahindra Scorpio-N will come with a large touchscreen infotainment unit running the AdrenoX user interface equipped with connected car technology. It will get features like driver drowsiness detection, a Sony 3D sound system, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and push-button start/stop. It also gets a twin-pod instrument console with a larger MID unit in the centre. The SUV also has multiple driving modes, including tarmac, snow, mud and desert modes. Other features include an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, multiple driving modes, roof-mounted speakers, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. On the safety front, the Scorpio-N comes with six airbags, ABS, ESC, and more.
