The Mobile Association (TMA), a new association representing over 200 mobile brands and manufacturers, is organising a meet on ‘Harmonising Growth of Mobile Devices in India’ on June 18 in New Delhi. N Sivasailam, Special Secretary (DoT, Government of India), will speak on the theme. “We are a new association focussed on designing favourable policies through advocacy. The conference would have representation from the members of the association, analysts, thought leaders and government officials,” TMA President Bhawna Kumari said. The Mobile Device Summit 2018 will have sessions on Make in India version 2.0; Preparing for the 5G device ecosystem; Testing compliances in the new regime and mobile device security in the connected world.
The discussions would focus on issues impacting the mobile ecosystem, policy anomalies, simplifying the approvals regime, rationalising tariffs and removing infrastructure bottlenecks, she said in a statement on Thursday.
“Mobile device makers are committed to supporting the enhancement of manufacturing and product development capabilities for ensuring world-class ‘5G-Ready, Made in India’ devices across all user segments,” Bhawna said.
