Ola Electric scooters worth Rs 1,100 crore sold in 2 days, booking reopens in November – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Ola Electric chief Bhavish Aggarwal announced on Friday that the company has sold electric scooters net worth Rs 1,100 crore in two days of commencement of purchase.
Taking to Twitter, Aggarwal said, “Day 2 of EV era was even better than Day 1! Crossed ₹1100Cr in sales in 2 days! Purchase window will reopen on Nov 1 so reserve now if you haven’t already.”
Customers who have booked the scooters with a token amount of Rs 499 had to spend Rs 20,000 as an advance amount to complete the purchase procedure. Ola has temporarily halted the sales of S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters.
Without quantifying the units sold, Aggarwal on Wednesday said 4 Ola e-scooters are sold every second.
Commenting on the deliveries, Varun Dubey, Ola Electric CMO told CNN-IBN, ”Mid-October is when we will start the deliveries. The exact date a customer is getting is the basis when they have made the purchase.”
Without commenting on the production timelines, Dubey said Phase-1 of Ola Futurefactory is ready and the company is aiming to start production in time to fulfill commitments.
Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are priced at Rs 99,000 and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
