Oppo A9 2020 with Snapdragon 665, 5,000mAh battery goes on sale at 12 noon today

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo launched the Oppo A9 2020 last week in India. The smartphone, priced at 16,990 will go on sale starting today via Amazon. The smartphone will also be available at offline stores starting 19 September.

The Oppo A9 2020 sale will commence at 12 noon today. It will be available in two variants of 4GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB. The latter is priced at 19,990. HDFC Bank is offering 5% instant discount on purchases made via its credit or debit cards. Exchange offers and no-cost EMI options are also available.

Oppo A9 2020: Specifications

The Oppo A9 2020 is lit by a 6.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1,600×720. It has a dewdrop notch that houses a 16MP selfie camera. It is powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

At the back, the smartphone has a quad-camera setup with a 48M (primary) +8MP (wide angle) +2MP (monochrome) +2MP (bokeh) configuration. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery.

Other features of the smartphone include a microSD card slot (up to 256GB), Dolby Atmos support, and a rear fingerprint sensor in the smartphone.

The smartphone’s sale comes at a time when smartphone shipments in India through online channels have started increasing. Sales increased 26% year-on-year (YoY) in April to June quarter of 2019, a Counterpoint’s market report suggested. Oppo’s sub brand Realme held 17% of the share.

Oppo, at the launch of the Reno 2, expressed its plans to double smartphone production in India by 2020 and use it as a export hub.
