RBI plans open market operations on Wednesday

MUMBAI: The RBI will conduct open market operations next Wednesday to buy Rs 10,000 crore worth of government bonds from the market, a move that will inject cash into the system. This should help checking rising market rates. “Based on an assessment of liquidity conditions and of durable liquidity needs, RBI has decided to conduct purchase of government securities under Open Market Operations,” RBI said.
