Share/Stock Live Updates: The benchmark equity indices on the BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) extended their morning losses and were trading over 2 per cent lower in the early afternoon session on Friday lead by heavy across-the-board selling amid a negative trend in global markets and unabated foreign fund outflows.
At 12:26 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1,378.47 points (2.34 per cent) at 57,416.62, while the Nifty 50 tanked 415.50 points (2.37 per cent) to 17,120.75. Both the indices had opened over 1 per cent higher and extended losses as the session progressed.
On the Sensex pack, Tata Steel, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Maruti Suzuki India, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top laggards during the morning deals. Only Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Nestle India and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were trading in the green.
