New Delhi: Bank stocks rose up to 4 per cent in Friday’s session, mirroring the positive mood of market.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.46 per cent up at 25,393 around 12:20 pm on Friday.
Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 3.85 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 3.38 per cent), YES Bank (up 3.16 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 3.03 per cent) and IDFC Bank (up 2.99 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Federal Bank (up 2.52 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 2.38 per cent), RBL Bank (up 1.95 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.81 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.90 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.82 per cent), too, were among top performers.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 215.20 points at 10,449.85, while BSE Sensex was up 692.27 points at 34,693.42 at that time.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda and HPCL were among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
