Share market update: Media shares decline; Eros International falls 5%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the negative zone in Monday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Eros International Media (down 4.91 per cent), TV Today Network (down 3.23 per cent), Den Networks (down 2.67 per cent) and Network 18 Media & Investments (down 2.61 per cent) were trading lower.

TV18 Broadcast (down 1.38 per cent), DB Corp (down 1.24 per cent), Zee Media Corporation (down 0.43 per cent) and PVR (down 0.31 per cent) too were trading with losses.

Meanwhile, the Nifty Media index was trading 1.12 per cent up at 2042.70 around 12:27 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 85.25 points at 11,334 while the BSE Sensex was down 332.26 points at 38,004.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Oil Corp, Dish TV India, Vedanta, L&T Fin Holding, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, SAIL and Federal Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
