Share market update: Metal shares mixed; Coal India dips 1%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday’s morning session.

Shares of Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 2.38 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (up 0.68 per cent) , Vedanta (up 0.63 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (up 0.42 per cent) , Jindal Steel & Power (up 0.35 per cent) , MOIL (up 0.26 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 0.11 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Welspun Corp (down 1.37 per cent) , Coal India (down 1.04 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (down 1.03 per cent) , National Mineral Development Corp (down 0.57 per cent) , APL Apollo Tubes (down 0.45 per cent) , JSW Steel (down 0.43 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.20 per cent down at 2864.25 around 10:26 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 28.10 points at 12254.1 , while the BSE Sensex was down 75.54 points at 41,551.10.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SAIL, ONGC, GAIL, ZEEL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
