Share market update: Mining stocks down; Sandur Manganese slips 6%

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading in the negative zone in Monday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores (down 5.89 per cent), Shirpur Gold Refinery (down 4.72 per cent), Terrascope Ventures (down 4.69 per cent), Orissa Minerals Development Company (down 3.62 per cent), Coal India (down 2.98 per cent), Pokarna (down 2.89 per cent), Oriental Trimex (down 2.82 per cent), Ashapura Minechem (down 2.11 per cent), MOIL (down 1.90 per cent) and Madhav Marbles and Granites (down 1.66 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 19.90 points down at 12,093.55, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 38.09 points at 41,219.65 at around 12:09 pm.

IndusInd Bank (up 1.69 per cent), Titan Company Ltd (up 1.63 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.23 per cent), Nestle India (up 0.91 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 0.75 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.73 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.71 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.66 per cent), Asian Paints (up 0.47 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Sensex pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (down 3.24 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 2.37 per cent), NTPC (down 1.73 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 1.33 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.3 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 1.05 per cent), ITC (down 0.99 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.89 per cent), HDFC (down 0.86 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.64 per cent) were trading in the red.
