Share market update: Private bank shares rise; IDFC Bank climbs 3%

NEW DELHI: Most of the private banks were trading with gains in Friday’s afternoon session.

Shares of IDFC Bank (up 3.44 per cent) , Federal Bank (up 2.92 per cent) , Axis Bank (up 1.86 per cent) , RBL BANK (up 1.62 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 1.34 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 0.64 per cent) , City Union Bank (up 0.48 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Yes Bank (down 0.72 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.86 per cent up at 17842 around 12:03 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 78.70 points at 12205.25 , while the BSE Sensex was up 257.08 points at 41420.84 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Bank of Baroda, PNB, SBI, IDFC First Bank, JSPL, SAIL and Union Bank India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
