NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with losses in Thursday’s afternoon session.
Shares of Bharti Airtel (down 2.95 per cent), Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (down 2.72 per cent), Reliance Communications (down 2.60 per cent)and Bharti Infratel (down 2.35 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
Aksh Optifibre (down 2.09 per cent), Tata Communications (down 1.58 per cent)and Tejas Networks (down 1.57 per cent) too were trading in the red.
The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 2.09 per cent down at 952.49 around 12:25 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.30 points at 10,750.35 while the BSE Sensex was down 109.16 points at 35,924.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, CG Power and Industries, Reliance Communications, Reliance Power, DHFL, JP Associates, NALCO, Dish TV India, Reliance Capital, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Infra, NBCC , Ashok Leyland, Indian Oil Corp, PC Jeweller and Max India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
