Stock market holidays: On account of Bakri Id celebrations across nation, trading at BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (Nationbal Stock Exchange) will remain suspended today. As per the list of stock market holidays 2021 available at the official BSE website — bseindia.com — there will be no action in Equity, Derivative and SLB Segments today.
Trading at Commodity segment will remain suspended in the morning session from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM but it will remain open in the evening session from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM.
This is the only holiday falling in the month of July 2021. Next stock market holiday falls on 19th August 2021 for Muharram followed by Ganesh Chaturthi and Dussehra festivals falling on 10th September 2021 and 15th October 2021 respectively.

BSE and NSE is going to close after a gap of more than 2 months as the earlier stock market holiday had fallen on 13th May 2021 for Id-UL-Fitra (Ramadan Id) celebration.
The Indian stock market was closed for maximum days this year in April, when BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty remained close on 2nd April for Good Friday, 14 April for Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and 21st April for Ram Navami celebration.
Indian stock market closed in the red zone for third successive trade session on July 20, 2021 as the BSE Sensex closed shed 354 points and closed at 52,198 levels while the NSE Nifty dipped 120 points and closed at 15632 levels. Out of 50 NSE Nifty stocks, 40 stocks closed in the red zone. After opening on a down gap of 48 points, Nifty slipped into further weakness in the early-mid part of the session. Upside recovery of mid part was not sustained and the Nifty declined and finally closed near the lows.
