NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading lower in Tuesday’s morning session.
Shares of Wipro (down 0.9 per cent) , HCL Technologies (down 0.82 per cent) , Tata Elxsi (down 0.66 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (down 0.46 per cent) , Infosys (down 0.33 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 16357.4 around 09:57 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.80 points at 12146.8 , while the BSE Sensex was up 118.67 points at 41273.79 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, United Spirits, SBI, Wockhardt and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
