Tata Motors sales up by over 500% in March 2021 – Team-BHP

In the EV segment, Tata recorded sales of 4,219 units in FY2021.

Tata Motors’ domestic sales grew by 505% in March 2021 as compared to the same month last year. 66,609 units were sold last month as opposed to just 11,012 units in March 2020, when the country went into lockdown following the outbreak of the Covid-10 pandemic.

Passenger vehicle sales were also up, with 29,654 units sold last month – the highest ever monthly sales in 9 years.

In FY2021, Tata sold 2,22,025 passenger vehicles – the highest ever annual sales in 8 years; registering a growth of 69% compared to the previous fiscal.

In the EV segment, Tata recorded sales of 4,219 units in FY2021. The carmaker sold 705 electric vehicles in March 2021 alone, while the total sales in Q4 FY2021 stood at 1,711 units.

Tata’s commercial vehicle sales in March 2021 grew by a massive 593% to 36,955 units compared to the same month last year (5,336 units).
