UNIQLO’s first India store set for 4 October launch

New Delhi: Japanese fast fashion brand UNIQLO will open doors to shoppers in the capital city of New Delhi on October 4th, the company said in a press statement on Friday.

The store will be located in Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj. The retailer has two more stores lined up in the Delhi-NCR region over the next few months.

“We are very excited to announce the opening date today. We look forward to formally opening our doors to the Indian customers and offering UNIQLO’s high quality, highly functional apparel that we call LifeWear starting from Delhi at Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj,” Tomohiko Sei, Chief Executive Officer UNIQLO India said.

In July, the Japanese brand–endorsed by ace tennis player Roger Federer–had announced a three store line-up in India with stores in Delhi and NCR.

The store launch in India will help fuel the retailer’s global strategy as it tries to beat Spain’s Zara and Swedish retailer H&M to sell more apparel globally.

The first 500 brand enthusiasts and shoppers on the opening date will receive UNIQLO T-shirts (UTs) of their personal choice, the company added in its statement.
