Xiaomi announced recently that it is all set to roll out the new version of the Poco Launcher. The Poco Launcher 2.0 is now available as a beta via Google Play Store. The announcement was made by MIUI ROM’s Twitter page.
The new version brings in an even cleaner look with semi transparent backgrounds and a few ironed out graphics. It is also visibly smoother and faster. The Poco Launcher is essentially based on the MIUI 9, but with a few crucial differences and creature comforts like a colour coded app drawer. Initially, it was the default launcher for the Poco F1, but it has since been released with support for all Android phones.
It isn’t clear when the stable version of launcher will be out, as the tweet only talked about the beta version. You are also out of luck if you wish to get enrolled in the Beta Programme as it is already full. You will have to wait for a while for a few users to exit the programme before you can get in through the MIUI Forums.
The tweet also didn’t provide a changelog for the beta version. It did, however, include a video that has given us the first look at Poco Launcher 2.0. Apart from making it look and feel a bit more refined, Xiaomi has also added more customisation options, including a new way to add more apps to a particular app group and ability to manage app groups via settings.
