No one was expecting that Tata Motors will launch an Adventure edition of the Safari. The Adventure edition is a blacked-out version of the standard Safari that comes with cosmetic upgrades all over the exterior and interior as well. The prices of the Adventure editions are also out now. It costs Rs. 20.20 lakhs ex-showroom for the XZ+ variant and Rs. 21.45 lakhs ex-showroom for the XZA+ variant. Whereas, the regular Safari starts from Rs. 14.69 lakhs ex-showroom and goes till Rs. 21.25 lakhs ex-showroom. Here we have some new pictures of the all-new launched Safari Adventure Edition.

The front of the Safari Adventure Edition comes with a Blacked-out grille and other chrome pieces are also blacked-out. It continues to get a split headlamp design which is identical to the Harrier one.

All the chrome from the SUV has been deleted which gives the Safari a more stealthy look. It gets black skid plate black strips below the headlamps. It gets a piano black finish on the outside rearview mirrors that are adjustable and can be electrically folded too.
The Adventure Edition is only offered with a Tropical Mist colour scheme. The regular Safari is offered in Daytona Grey, Royale Blue and Orcus White.

You also get 18-inch Charcoal Grey machined alloy wheels as compared to regular alloy wheels. When compared, the Harrier gets the same design of alloy wheels but they are an inch smaller.
Then there is the front grille which is finished in piano-black tri-arrows instead of chrome tri-arrows. The “Safari” badging is also now Black instead of Chrome.

The roof rails and shark-fin antenna also are finished in black instead of chrome. Because Adventure Edition is based on the XZ+ variant, it gets a panoramic sunroof due to which the roof rails are not functional.
The interior theme is also different for the Adventure Edition. It comes with Earthy Brown upholstery instead of Ivory White. You can also get the Adventure Edition with Captain seats for the second row.

The cabin also gets a piano-black finish instead of wood trim and in the centre console. It continues to get the floating 8.8 touchscreen infotainment system which comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Tata Motors is also offering iRA connected car technology and 9 speakers that are sourced from JBL.
The Safari is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than the Harrier. It also has a more upright tailgate and a longer rear overhang. This has been done to open up space for the third-row occupants. It also gets a stepped roof design which helps in opening a bit more headroom for the third-row occupants.

Despite being a front-wheel-drive SUV, Tata is offering terrain response modes. However, Tata has said that the Omega ARC platform on which Safari is based is capable of a 4×4 system and electrification for future prospects.
Tata Safari is only offered with a 2.0-litre Kyrotec diesel engine that produces 170 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
