UP CM Yogi Adityanath, who arrived 90 minutes late for two campaign rallies at Badarpur and Okhla areas near Shaheen Bagh, blamed the “traffic mess” caused by the Shaheen Bagh protest for the delay. He accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of orchestrating the 50-day-old Shaheen Bagh sit-in and “feeding biryani” to protesters.
On a day the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had approached the EC seeking a ban on campaigning by Adityanath and demanded a case against him for inciting communal passions for his statements on Saturday, the UP CM continued his diatribe against the Shaheen Bagh protest.
“Kejriwal and Co is spreading anarchy in Delhi by doing acts like Shaheen Bagh. They are sponsoring Shaheen Bagh and feeding biryani to people there. Delhi’s voter has to decide –– you want a nationalist BJP government in Delhi or one that feeds biryani to Shaheen Bagh. Kejriwal & Co have an anarchist and anti-India agenda,” the CM said, amid ‘Jai Sri Ram’ chants. Adityanath wanted to know what links Kejriwal had with Pakistan as ministers from that country were appealing in favour of Kejriwal.
