Fuel Prices Hiked For Second Straight Day; Diesel Crosses Rs. 100/Litre Mark In Anuppur – CarandBike

Petrol and diesel prices have touched all-time highs across the country. In Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh, petrol and diesel have crossed Rs. 109-mark and Rs. 100-mark. Currently, petrol is priced at Rs. 109.29 a litre while diesel stood at Rs. 100.02 a litre.

The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Sunday increased fuel prices for the second consecutive day. With new prices coming into effect, the two auto fuels have touched all-time highs across the country. According to details listed on the oil retailer’s website, petrol and diesel in Delhi became dearer by 35 paise a litre and 25 paise a litre, respectively. Customers in Delhi will have to pay ₹ 98.46 a litre for petrol and ₹ 88.90 a litre for diesel. Diesel price in Anuppur has crossed the ₹ 100 mark, and currently stands at ₹ 100.02 per litre. While petrol also breached ₹ 109 mark, retailing at ₹ 109.29 per litre.

In Mumbai, petrol is retailed at ₹ 104.56 per litre after a hike of 34 paise, while diesel rates stand at ₹ 96.42 per litre, after a hike of 26 paise. Petrol and diesel prices in Chennai now stand at ₹ 99.49 and ₹ 93.46, respectively. In Hyderabad, petrol has crossed ₹ 102-mark currently retails at ₹ 102.32 per litre, while diesel rates went up by 27 paise, at ₹ 96.90 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol has reached ₹ 98.30 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹ 91.750 per litre. Fuel prices in Bengaluru stand at ₹ 101.75 and ₹ 94.25, respectively.

Fuel prices vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT.

Fuel rates are the most expensive in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar where petrol currently stands at ₹ 109.67 per litre, while diesel retails at ₹ 102.12 per litre. In the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, petrol costs ₹ 108.93 a litre while diesel is priced at ₹ 99.69 a litre. Customers in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra will have to pay ₹ 106.89 a litre and ₹ 97.18 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.

Other regions where petrol prices have already crossed the ₹ 100 per litre mark include Mangalore, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Leh, Nagpur, Thane, Kolhapur, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kakinada, Shivamogga, and Chikmagalur.
