Among sectors, except metal other indices ended in the red. BSE Midcap Index ended 0.3 percent lower, while Smallcap Index gained 1 percent.

Profit booking dragged the benchmark indices for the fourth consecutive day on August 3 with Nifty closing below 10,900. At close, Sensex was down 667.29 points, or 1.77%, to 36,939.60, and Nifty fell 181.90 points, or 1.64%, to 10,891.60. About 1,409 shares advanced, 1,213 shares declined, and 169 shares remained unchanged. Here are 10 stocks that moved the most:

Bandhan Bank | CMP: Rs 308.75 | The share price tumbled 10 percent after a CNBC-TV18 report said that the promoter may sell 20.9 percent equity via a block deal on August 3. The size for the block deal is likely Rs 10,500 crore, and the floor price has been set at Rs 311.10, the news channel reported. The move is a part of the bank's effort to bring down promoter shareholding in the lender to meet the Reserve Bank of India's regulatory norms.

Bandhan Bank | CMP: Rs 308.75 | The share price tumbled 10 percent after a CNBC-TV18 report said that the promoter may sell 20.9 percent equity via a block deal on August 3. The size for the block deal is likely Rs 10,500 crore, and the floor price has been set at Rs 311.10, the news channel reported. Revenue from operations during the June quarter fell significantly to Rs 31,983.1 crore, compared to Rs 61,467 crore in the year-ago period.

State Bank of India | CMP: Rs 192.20 | The stock price ended in the green after brokerages, including CLSA, Nomura and Kotak, recommended a buy call on the stock. The PSU bank reported a standalone profit of Rs 4,189.34 crore for the quarter ended June 2020, a growth of 81.2 percent over a year-ago period driven by stake sale in life insurance business. Provisions and lower non-interest income limited growth in profit. Net interest income, the difference between interest earned and interest expended, increased 16.1 percent to Rs 26,641.56 crore in June quarter compared to Rs 22,938.8 crore in year-ago period.

Sales rose 104.41 percent to Rs 207.39 crore in the quarter ended March 2020 as against Rs 101.46 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2019. For the full year,net profit rose 182.52% to Rs 71.28 crore in the year ended March 2020 as against Rs 25.23 crore during the previous year ended March 2019. Sales declined 54.57% to Rs 685.22 crore in the year ended March 2020 as against Rs 1508.23 crore during the previous year ended March 2019.

Sales rose 104.41 percent to Rs 207.39 crore in the quarter ended March 2020 as against Rs 101.46 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2019. For the full year,net profit rose 182.52% to Rs 71.28 crore in the year ended March 2020 as against Rs 25.23 crore during the previous year ended March 2019. Sales declined 54.57% to Rs 685.22 crore in the year ended March 2020 as against Rs 1508.23 crore during the previous year ended March 2019.

Kansai Nerolac Paints | The share price was up over 3 percent after the company’s consolidated net profit went down 79.5 percent to Rs 29.6 crore against Rs 144.7 crore YoY. Cons revenue fell 58.6 percent to Rs 639 crore against Rs 1,542.4 crore YoY. Consolidated EBITDA was down 69.7 percent at Rs 77 crore against Rs 254 crore YoY. Consolidated EBITDA margin stood at 12 percent against 16.4 percent YoY.

Teamlease Services | CMP: Rs 1907.50 | The stock was up over 3 percent on improving prospects of operating margins. The company’s strict cost rationalisation measures and exit from subdued businesses are expected to give its margins a shot in the arm. The company reported weaker-than-expected June quarter earnings with revenue declining on a year-on-year basis, in both its key general staffing and human resource services segments.

TVS Motor Company | CMP: Rs 397.35 | The share price gained over 2 percent. The company reported a 10 percent decline in total sales at 2,52,744 units in July 2020. The company had sold 2,79,465 units in the corresponding month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Total two-wheeler sales were at 2,43,788 units last month, as compared to 2,65,679 units in July 2019, down 8 percent, while domestic two-wheeler sales were at 1,89,647 units in the period under review, as against 2,08,489 units in the year-ago month, down 9 percent.
