Here is why Twitter does not want you to download its latest Android update yet

With multiple updates for the tiniest of bug fixes on apps these days, the possibility of an app-crash scenario has almost become a thing of past. However, it may still crop up sometimes to haunt you. And what’s worse a nightmare than one where major social media apps like Twitter starts crashing? Well, it is true.

The latest update of Twitter is resulting in immediate crash on Android smartphones. After the release of the latest update to version 8.28 on Google Play Store, the app automatically started crashing for a lot of users.

Twitter immediately acknowledged and apologised for the issue and also stated that it would not update it “until we let you know it’s fixed.”

We’re investigating a problem with the latest version of our Android app that causes it to crash immediately once it’s opened. If you use Twitter for Android, we suggest not updating it until we let you know it’s fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Those who have not yet updated the app to the latest version should wait till the bug gets fixed. Apart from that, if you have set your apps to auto-download option, you should deactivate that by head to the app’s listing page on Google Play Store and tapping on the three-dot menu at the top-right corner to disable the ‘Enable auto-update’ option.

If you are one of those who have updated to the latest version and are experiencing the problematic release can resolve it easily by going to Twitter’s “App info” page in settings > Storage & cache > “Clear storage” and “Clear cache.”
