Honda to launch 5th generation City on July 15 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The fifth generation Honda City is all set to drive into the market on July 15, the automaker announced on Saturday.
The Honda City midsize sedan will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will be powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC engine that will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT options. The engine churns out 121 PS of power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm.
The diesel-powered City sedan will be powered by a 1.5L i-DTEC engine, which will be clubbed with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine churns out 100 PS of power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm.

The midsize sedan competes with rivals like Maruti Suzuki CIaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris.
The 4th and 5th generation City models will co-exist in the market and we expect the prices of the new iteration to be between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
