IRGC gets billions while people starve!

The Iranian government has allocated $3 billion to its state security forces, known as the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). This money is coming despite the country’s economy being in decline, because the IRGC is a very powerful organization. Some experts estimate that the IRGC’s income could be as high as $17 billion. This money will be used to support the IRGC’s violent role in suppressing nationwide protests, as well as to fund terror groups across the region.

Last year, Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, revealed that Iran had recently given $70 million to the militant Palestinian group, Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip. This money was meant to help Hamas develop missiles and defence systems. This is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK, so it is illegal for anyone in the UK to support Hamas.

The Iranian government has increased the budget for its regular army, police, and intelligence agencies by 36%, 44%, and 52%, respectively. This money is used to pay for things like equipment and salaries.

Many people in the country can’t afford to buy vegetables or fruit because the currency has fallen so much. Prices have gone up so much that people only bought half as much last year. In the marketplace in the Iranian city of Rasht, even the sellers of spices, fruits, local sweets, and freshly-baked bread can’t make a living. This marketplace used to be a very important part of the city for locals, but now it symbolizes the economic problems in Iran.

Iran has a lot of natural gas, but not enough technology to make the most of it. People are being told to turn down their heating in the cold weather because there is so much gas.
