Is the Mahindra Scorpio-N base variant worth it? – MotorOctane

The Mahindra Scorpio-N has got everyone excited with its price and specifications. Mahindra has outdone itself with the launch of the Scorpio-N as it did with the XUV700. We have been talking about the Scorpio-N top variants but about the Z2 base variant. Is it worth it? In today’s article, let’s find out.

Design

The Z2 variant of the Mahindra Scorpio-N gets lesser bling elements. It gets blacked-out front grille, skid plate, LED turn indicators, LED tail lamps and steel wheels. What does it miss out on? The base Scorpio-N misses out on LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, roof rail, chrome door handles and rear spoiler. Z2 also misses out on the signature Scorpion tail element.

So, is the base variant worth it? The Scorpio-N Z2 does have a lot going for it. If you need a 7-seater SUV at the price of a C-segment SUV, then the Mahindra Scorpio-N is your go-to option. You get 200bhp of power at your disposal for just Rs 14.46 lakh which is a steal. Also, the diesel engine should be enough for most purposes. Moreover, the regular benefits of owning a Scorpio-N like commanding seating stance, impressive ground clearance and a respectable road presence will also be available at your disposal. As a whole, the Scorpio-N Z2 variant does turn out to be a value-for-money option. However, if you are too keen on features and the above-mentioned benefits do not matter to you, you can definitely look out for other tried and tested options in the market.
