SEBI on Divis Lab:
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has passed the settlement order in Divis insider trading cases including CFO and 7 others. The order disposed enforcement proceedings w.r.t insider trading case, reported CNBC-TV18.
ICICIdirect:
The US dollar was advancing against the rupee although it is falling vs. its major counterparts as hopes rise that Congress will be able to achieve a US relief package deal. The recent underperformance of the rupee was observed despite continued FII flows.

The dollar-rupee October contract on the NSE was at 73.69 in the last session. The open interest in the October series declined 4.8% while it increased 6.1% in the next series.

Market Opens: Indian indices opened higher on October 23 with Nifty around 11950.
At 09:16 IST, the Sensex was up 162.31 points or 0.40% at 40720.80, and the Nifty was up 52.70 points or 0.44% at 11949.20. About 711 shares have advanced, 197 shares declined, and 30 shares are unchanged.
Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin receives approval for Phase III trials: Reports
Bharat Biotech’s coronavirus vaccine Covaxin has received approval for carrying out Phase III trials on October 22, reports suggest. The approvals were reportedly given after assessing data from Phase I and II and animal challenge study. Phase III is likely to start next month, Business Today reported. The report said an expert committee met on October 20 to give its nod to Phase III trials and suggested some ‘minor amendments’ in the protocol.
In its application, the firm said the study would cover over 28,500 subjects, aged 18 years and above. The study would be conducted at 19 sites in 10 states across the country, the report said.
Market at pre-open: Benchmark indices are trading higher in the pre-opening session with Nifty above 11950.
At 09:02 IST, the Sensex was up 155.44 points or 0.38% at 40713.93, and the Nifty was up 82.40 points or 0.69% at 11978.90.
