Petrol, diesel prices hiked on Sunday, touch record high – Economic Times

Prices of petrol and diesel climbed up again on Sunday for the fourth day straight after global crude prices remained high above $79 a barrel.

Accordingly, diesel price increased by 30 paise per litre in the national capital to Rs 90.77 per litre on Sunday while petrol price increased by 25 paise per litre to Rs 102.39 a litre.

The hike has pushed petrol prices in Mumbai to Rs 108.43 per litre while diesel costs Rs 98.48 per litre.

The OMCs effected the hike owing to the volatility in global crude oil prices. Retail prices vary across states depending on the extent of local taxes.

Oil companies review and revise prices on a daily prices and the new prices are effective from 6 a.m. every morning.
