Realme confirms Android 11 update for its smartphones. Details here

Realme CMO for India Francis Wang, confirmed on Twitter that their recent smartphones will receive two major updates. Going by the current version, both Realme X series and Realme Pro series will at least receive Android 11.

In response to a Twitter user, Wang first said that Realme X series will definitely get two major updates. When another Twitter user pointed the same question for the Realme Pro smartphones, Wang responded with a confirmation saying both series will receive two major updates.

That is saying one Major update at least, because we missed realme 1, c1 and u1. But it is not a common practise for every phone. X series will be definetly getting 2 Major update

The update cycle will include Realme X, Realme XT, Realme X2, Realme X2 Pro from the X-series and Realme 5 Pro, Realme 3 Pro and Realme X2 Pro in the Pro series. According to reports on Realme’s current update cycle, the Android 11 update should reach most devices early next year.

The roll-out of Android 10 OS is also underway for most Realme devices. The latest software update comes with a number of exciting and fresh features. The edgiest of them all are the dark theme, smart reply in all messaging apps, incognito mode for Google Maps, Desktop mode, focus mode — which essentially will enable users to select particular apps they want to avoid during a period of time, such as messaging or news apps — enhanced parental control and of course, 5G support among more.

Apart from that, the Realme devices will get a Focus Mode under the Digital Wellbeing dashboard. Users will also get a feature called Random MAC address Generator, which comes in handy while connecting to public WiFi networks. It also deflects targeted ads when active.

Android 10 will also bring a new set of navigation gestures which also work in landscape mode. The side bar has been upgraded for better single-handed use. Users can also take a screenshot by swiping down three fingers on the screen.

Realme smartphone owners will get the latest software via an OTA update. Users can also manually download the latest update from the company’s official website.
