Share market update: BSE Midcap index flat; RInfra jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was trading in the green zone in Thursday’s morning session.

Shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 4.91 per cent), Reliance Capital (up 4.83 per cent), Indiabulls Ventures (up 2.54 per cent), Steel Authority of India (up 1.71 per cent), Emami (up 1.37 per cent), Endurance Techno (up 1.36 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 1.2 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (up 1.12 per cent), PNB Housing Finance (up 1.1 per cent) and CRISIL (up 1.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Union Bank of India (down 1.29 per cent), United Breweries (down 1.16 per cent), Indian Hotels Company (down 0.97 per cent), Canara Bank (down 0.91 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 0.81 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.8 per cent), Future Retail (down 0.8 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (down 0.68 per cent), Berger Paints India (down 0.67 per cent) and Adani Power (down 0.58 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.01 per cent up at 14821.2 around 09:50 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was down 0.20 points at 12214.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 3.36 points at 41464.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SAIL, Bank of Baroda, PNB, Spicejet, Trident Ltd, Tata Steel and Vakrangee were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
