Steam and Epic Games are back with discounts and deals on PC games

Getting some of the top rated AAA games can be an expensive affair not just at the time of launch but several months later too. The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, for instance, is still available at 2,999, after a whole year of its launch. The ongoing sales on two of the leading PC game stores, Steam and Epic Games have made some of these gaming titles a lot more affordable.

The AC Odyssey is now available on Steam for just 1,199, but this price is only valid until January 2. Set in ancient Greece, Odyssey’s open world and historic backdrop is a visual treat and lesson in Greek history for youngsters who might find history classes boring. The game has been widely acclaimed and gives the option to play as the mythical Greek demi-god Kassandra or Alexios.

While Steam’s sale ends on January 2, Epic Games’ winter sales will close on January 1 and it is offering discounts of up to 75% on some of the latest titles. 2K Games’ sci-fi open world shooter Borderlands 3, which released in September, is available at $29.24 (approx 2,080) instead of original price of $44.99 (approx 3,200). Similarly, Remedy Entertainment’s Control, which was released in August at $22.99 (approx 1,635) has received a lot of critical acclaim for its gravity defying mechanics and a maze like environment that keeps shifting, is available for $15.40 (approx 1,095). There is a 60% discount on the more recent Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which was released in October. The game received mixed reviews, but was praised for offering the fine balance between stealth and action. It is available at $16.79 (approx 1,195) down from $41.99 (approx 2,988).

I’m addition to AC Odyssey, Steam has also lined up some expensive AAA games like Activision’s shooter game Call of Duty World War 2. While it was released in 2017, it is still one of the top rated World War 2 games out there. It is now available at 1,599, down from 3,999. Among more recent titles, Asobo Studios’ A Plague Tale, an open world tale set in the backdrop of 14 century Europe ravaged by the Bubonic Plague. The game received high ratings for its visual authenticity and uplifting storyline. Originally priced at 1,599, after discount it is available at 799.

In addition to discounts on specific games, Steam and Epic is also offering some add-ons to create more buzz and reward active gamers. Steam has got festivity tokens which users can earn after completing quests in games or by purchasing new games from the sales. So for every 100 spent on Steam, user gets 141 tokens which will be added to Steam Wallet and can redeemed for new games.

Epic Games is offering $10 worth of coupon free for just signing up on the platform. It can be used to buy games of $14.99 or more on the store during the promotional period, which will be rewarded further with another $10 coupon.
